Litter Critters is a series of odd furry sculptures brought to life through the process of up-cycling. These sculptures are mostly created from common waste such as an old teriyaki sauce bottle, soda cans, plastic bags, scraps, and more. The sculptures themselves do not appear as though they are assembled by re-using materials that would otherwise be thrown away. This characteristic is key in representing the idea that waste objects can have another life away from the landfill and away from contributing to pollution. In retrospect to the ever-growing waste issue, these sculptures draw attention to the idea that trash goes away once you throw it away. The reality is that these items often take hundreds of years to decompose and some never truly reach decomposition. With in mind, these critters represent trash that is apparent, yet hidden behind masks.
